HOME CHURCH AND BOSTON WEATHER

Last weekend a huge winter storm was predicted for the Boston area.  While it didn't carry quite the snowfall that was anticipated, the threat prompted our Stake President to cancel Church for our area.  In his email announcing that, he gave permission to Melchizedek Priesthood members and Priests to bless the Sacrament in their homes on that Sunday.  Craig and I ended up having a very Spiritual experience, and spent the day studying and talking about how grateful we are for our membership in His Church, and for the blessings that gives us.  It's overwhelming!

Speaking of bad/cold weather - We have neither one lived in a place where the given temperature varies so significantly from the "Real Feel" temperature, typical of what we saw on Monday morning.

Yes - that is MINUS 17!  A 20 degree difference!  But the week warmed up!
Against our better judgement, we went out to visit and drove on the snow-caked SLICK roads on Monday!  We took some pictures, but they do not show the true conditions very well. Wednesday was a bit warmer, so people could start digging out and once they did, they SAVED THEIR PARKING PLACE!!!  While this doesn't seem to be a particularly intimidating barrier, ones like this were all over the streets, so everyone must be respecting them!
The variety of chairs, lawn equipment, garbage cans, etc
used to "save" was pretty amusing!
We are excited that the Evans Missionary Tradition is being perpetuated - Craig's oldest grandson got his mission call this week to Japan!  Omedetōgozaimasu, Brennan!

  2. I just read this post and today’s post to the kids.

Adelyn- “I cant believe that your friends house had rats in it and that you don’t like rats and you sended it to us.”
Avery- “I love you and I can’t believe the rats would sneak in and eat your friends food.”
Christian- “So, how is your day?”
Kaden- “Hi grandma Cindy and grandpa Craig! I love transformers and cars.”

I can’t believe it was that cold! How neat you were able to have the sacrament in your home!
