Oxford

We have heard people say that often letters and blogs from Senior Missionary Couples (especially those serving in a Temple) look like they are just on vacation.  Trust us - we work hard!!!  We have endeavored to share experiences that have impacted us that we CAN share outside the temple; but haven't gone a lot of places, so the whole "it looks like you have just been touring" has been easy to avoid!  But last weekend we DID go somewhere and want to tell you about it, so will deviate from what we normally share.

There are two other American couples who are full-time Temple Missionaries (in addition to the new MTC President and wife, and a new Service-Mission Couple who are from the US as well.)  Last weekend we went on a jaunt with the other two Temple Missionary Couples, the Days and the Galbraiths.  We went on our P-Day, Monday, as well as Sunday, which we love, since we always recognize Temple Patrons in whatever Ward we visit!  We spent most of our time at Christ Church, Oxford - the College and the Cathedral.  The person who planned the trip is a Harry Potter fan; we neither one are, but we enjoyed seeing a different part of this lovely country.

Good friends, AWESOME traditional houses in the background!  We love these!

"Tom Quadrangle," Christ Church.  Did you know that Oxford is not a
one-campus University, but a group of 38 Colleges?  It was started around
1000 AD! Christ Church is one of the more well-known Oxford Colleges.
Unfortunately, we weren't in the Christ Church Cathedral during a service, but
were leaving as these choir boys went in to rehearse.  They were not allowed
to talk or sing as they were walking, but were still so noisy!  And cute!
