Pendle Hill

Besides the LDS Church History sites that we have been able to visit, we are close to some places that are significant to the events leading up to the Reformation.  George Fox, who shortly after founded of the Quakers, recorded this in his journal in 1652:

As we traveled we came near a very great hill, called Pendle Hill, and I was moved of the Lord to go up to the top of it; which I did with difficulty, it was so very steep and high... From the top of this hill the Lord let me see in what places He had a great people to be gathered.

Pendle Hill last Monday - Photo Cred, our good friend, Elder Day.
We are both very interested to see, once we pass on, just exactly how all the worlds' events were woven together to prepare for the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Even without knowing all the who, what, or how, we are grateful for everyone who was an instrument in the Lord's hand in bringing about this most significant event.

Within the first month of arriving here in England we did a blog about Downham.  Pendle Hill was the backdrop for a few of the pictures from our visit, but because the day was overcast, most of the hill wasn't seen.  On Monday we hiked Pendle Hill.  We were so grateful for a mostly-sunny P-Day.  Here is the view from the top, looking down.
It was indeed "so very steep and high!"  And so very cold and windy!!!
