What Are We Focusing On?

The story is told of a mother whose sons all grew up and left her to become seamen.  A visitor to her home easily saw why that happened – on her wall was a large alluring picture of the sea.  What do we have on our walls and devices that focus our thoughts every day?  We are lucky to have a very large main room in our new little home.  We hope to be able to have lots of people over, and we wanted all who entered to know what our focus is.  On other walls are lovely pictures of Christ, so we decided the Temple closest to Alturas should be our focus on this wall!

Getting our new branch members to their Temple is a top priority for us!

I have a couple of very thoughtful, generous sisters.  Upon hearing that we had an issue from a previous renter who had multiple cats (we are both horribly allergic) my sweet sister Patti and her husband sent this air purifier.

(The picture of me kissing it was a little
too strange to post!)

Because we are so far from civilization and thus pollution, we have such beautiful skies! And deer! The unretouched photos below are all taken from our living room!!!

You can barely see horns at the top left - I didn't notice them till too late!
There were eight deer altogether this evening!

Every night so far we've enjoyed a lovely sky!

Thank you for your comments, Terri, Sarah and Howes!  Some of you others have mentioned you tried to comment but couldn’t.  I think I’ve fixed it so non-Gmail users can now do that.  We will update on the people and the Work next week!

  1. Such a beautiful picture of the temple! And I love how that’s your focus as Missionaries!

  2. That picture of the temple is beautiful, it's such a perfect addition to your home! I was studying all the emblems of belonging for the children and youth program and every single one has either a picture of the temple or Christ. What a perfect thing to focus on! Also, I still can't believe all the deer in your yard!
