We
have so much to be thankful for – we are grateful to have a holiday that
reminds us to pause and realize just how blessed we are. If we were to write a list of all the
things we are thankful for, you would never have time to read it! So we are going to just highlight a few
things that we are particularly grateful for from this past week:
A
car that runs well and hauls a lot of stuff:
“Crossing
the plains” in comfort – we passed so many places that are familiar in Church
history and thought of our dear ancestors who paved the way for us. We are so grateful for them. (And grateful that our lives are not as
hard!)
Family
to stay with as we headed to Boston:
Waldron Grandchildren - Wichita |
DeFigueiredo Grandsons - Pittsburgh
Family
that we didn’t stay with because they’re not on the way to Boston – we love you
too!!!
Easy
access to great weather forecasts that alerted us that we needed to leave
Pittsburgh on Thursday at 5:00 a.m. and not stop till we got to Boston. We barely missed horrible storms – in
Pittsburgh, Boston, and in between!
(Actual news article we woke up to after missing the storms!) |
Our Huge Bedroom (That's a king-sized bed!) |
The Internet, which we have had only on our phones for the last three weeks!!! (And we don't do much on our phones... we need bigger screens!) We'll get WiFi on Tuesday!
The
Book of Mormon challenge that President Nelson issued to the women of the
Church, that many men (Craig included) are also doing. Honestly, until I started marking all
references to Christ in this new (as in unmarked) Book of Mormon, I thought “Another Testament
of Christ” was mostly found in 3rd Nephi. Such a different way to read the Book!
The Red marking isn't visible, but there's way more than I thought there would be! |
The
opportunity to serve a mission. We meet our new Branch on Sunday (which will
be “today” by the time I borrow internet and post this) as well as the Stake
President (under whose direction we will serve); and our Mission President on Monday. Anticipation!!!
And
above all else, our Savior, Jesus Christ, who Atoned for our sins that we may
return to our Heavenly Father; and rose from the dead so that we can be
Resurrected. We are SO blessed to know
this! And we do KNOW it!
I just read this to my kids and they loved it. You are such a good writer and I loved reading your journey with what you were thankful for! Your apt is super nice! Excited to hear about how everything went this week! Love you guys!
