Maybe This Time We'll Get It Right!

Hello Again!  Anyone reading this will know that we are heading out on another mission.  As I opened this blog to start our first post for this new mission, I reviewed some of the previous posts from our missions in Brazil, Orlando, and England.  While some entries were a little more pithy than I remembered, we hope that our testimonies of the Gospel of Christ, as found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, has come through.  Our love for our Savior and what He has done for us is what motivates us to serve missions - we want to share the Good News that we have with our brothers and sisters on both sides of the veil.

Our new little town home, that was to be finished May 31, (thank you, Margaret and Lynn for hosting us for seven months - blush!) was finally ready for us to sleep in a week ago Thursday.  So we slept there for three night before beginning our mission!  Our experience this last week at the MTC has been lovely.  The training has been changed since the last time we were there - instead of teaching people pretending to be researching the Church, we presented to other missionary couples in the MTC, inviting them to continue to Come to Christ.  (BTW - we are not suppose to refer to people as "investigators" anymore - the word has been completely removed from the newest version of Preach My Gospel, which is currently available only online.)  The focus of the whole week was totally centered on inviting all to come to Christ, not inviting others to be baptized.  We learned a lot, and are anxious to help in whatever little way we can in the Portuguese-speaking Branch in West Roxbury (south of Boston.)

Again, as anyone reading this will probably know, this blog is our weekly letter to our children, with an invitation to anyone to read.  Please forgive if we get too personal.

This coming week we will finish driving across the plains (taking the Mormon Trail backwards), so our next post will be from "the mission field!"  THE GOSPEL IS TRUE!!!

Setting Apart

Entering the MTC!

We made lots of new friends like the Browns - This is the same place where we took a
picture with the Perrys when Elder Perry spoke at the MTC during our first time here.   😔

Our little car was pretty packed as we headed off for Boston.  And apparently I was
pretty exhausted, since I couldn't button my coat right and looked pretty trashed!
